Chhatriwali Sanya is an unemployed chemistry genius looking for a job. However, she also wants to use her knowledge of chemistry to help young minds move beyond the taboos of sex with the right education. Chhatriwali (transl. woman with umbrella) is a 2023 Indian Hindi-language Romantic comedy film directed by Tejas Deoskar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. The film stars an Rakul Preet Singh, Sumeet Vyas, Satish Kaushik, Dolly Ahluwalia and Rajesh Tailang. The film was premiered on 20 January 2023 on ZEE5.[1] The film aims to promote the importance of male contraceptives and safe sex. Set in Karnal, the film is about Sanya Dhingra, a female unemployed chemistry genius, who is looking for a job and at the same time she uses her skills to fight an important societal taboo of educating the youth about Sex Education. upcoming Indian Hindi-language Romantic comedy film directed by Tejas Deoskar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala. It’s very appropriate that you have strong characters around you, and it’s also high time that you tell the other facets of the society from the female point of view. It’s not a goal per se to tell women’s stories, it’s only coincidental that I got a very good story after a Bucket List that was a female oriented subject.”Rakul opens up about changing perceptions and creating awareness about safe sex. She says, “This has been going on ever since I have been watching television, the Government running an initiative and trying to educate people but there are still only 7% of users of condoms in our country.” She adds, “Being a highly populated country, this is a very low figure. It never happens instantly, it’s a process that takes time, and that’s why more and more films like these should be made. Through entertainment, you can hopefully impact the mindsets of people.”
