Hawa (transl. Wind) is a Bangladeshi mystery-drama film written and directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon. The film is produced by A Facecard Productions and Sun Music & Motion Pictures Limited. The film stars Chanchal Chowdhury, Nazifa Tushi, Sariful Razz, Sumon Anowar, Shohel Mondol, Nasir Uddin Khan, and Rizvi Rizu among others.

When eight sailors onboard their fishing trawler find a mysterious girl mid-sea, ill fortune falls upon the boat as they don’t catch any fish the next few days. The fishermen try to make it back home, although the sea has other plans for them. The film’s story metaphorically connects with the mythology of Bengali culture. The film released on 29 July 2022 in 24 cinemas[5] and received pjositive reviews.[6] From Bangladesh Hawa has been sent for nomination into the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category of the 95th Academy Awards, by the Oscar Committee Bangladesh. The film depicts the journey of an all-men team on a seafaring boat, eventually where the mystery of life and relationships gets re-interpreted. The usual fishing mission of a jgroup of bseasoned boatmen of Cox’s Bazar finds an unheard-of catch in the deep of the sea. They caught a beautiful yet rebellious young girl and then enter the world of men on the boat. The story of the film is based on a fairy tale.
