Based on a true story Janowar – A group of robbers broke into a house at night with the intention of committing robbery. The house was inhabited by two young girls and a disabled child and their mother. Not getting the desired money, the robbers started torturing them. And they were raped them more than once and after the rape everyone was killed by cutting their throats.
Raihan Rafi’s movie ‘Janowar’ vividly displays the horrors that are taking place around us, horrors which are too heinous to even imagine. The movie signals the growth of Bangladeshi filmmakers in recent times and would hopefully encourage open discussions on social issues.
On April 23, 2020 a family of four faced a devastating crime that many couldn’t even imagine. Fatema Begum lived in Sreepur, Gazipur along with her three children, including a mentally challenged 8-year-old boy. Her husband was a Malaysian expatriate who lived there for work purposes. They were a small family brimming with colors of life till the day of darkness struck their home.
