Teko is a 2019 Indian Bengali language drama directed by Abhimanyu Mukherjee and produced by Surinder Films. The film stars Ritwick Chakraborty and Srabanti Chatterjee in lead roles. The film will be released on 22 November 2019.[1][2][3] The story is all about Alokesh is obsessed with his hair, but in a twist of fate, he goes bald after applying an oil that’s touted to boost hair growth. Life deals a double blow when his hair-obsessed fiancée, Mina, calls off their wedding after he reveals his bald scalp to her. He then sets out to seek revenge.
Alokesh and Mina both are very particular about their hair. As they share a similar affection, they decide to get married. In a twist of fate, Alokesh starts using an unknown hair oil and loses his hair which results in the marriage being called off. Will he still be able to win Mina’s heart? The storyline is simple and easy to connect with. After all, how many men don’t regret losing their mane and going glossy at the top? But while it’s usually a gradual process for most, Teko Alokesh (Ritwick) doesn’t enjoy that luxury. He sees a TV commercial about how ‘Byomkesh’ oil (I like the kesh pun here) boosts hair growth, runs to a pharmacy to buy it and doesn’t hesitate to apply it handsomely on his hara-bhara scalp. By Day 4, he loses half his hair and becomes teko. The rest is history. His Mina, (Srabanti), who is a hardcore hair lover, calls off their wedding and he sues the Byomkesh oil manufacturers and loses the case. That’s when he gets into revenge mode. In doing so, Ritwick, the teko, delivers a message on a subject that plagues markets across the world — overhyped ads of products that more often than not do more damage than good.
