The Bengal Scam: Bima Kando (2022) S01

The web series The Bengal Scam: Bima Kando, starring Rajatava Dutta, Kinjal Nanda and Sonamoni Saha, will stream on Hoichoi from November 11. Directed by Abhirup Ghosh, the series features the exploits of Samudra (Kinjal Nanda) and Mohona (Sonamoni Saha), two insurance agents working for the company, Bengal Bima Company. Samudra and Mohona are given the responsibility of handling an open-and-shut case of a claims investigation.In a village called Chilpota, an auto driver has been killed by a truck in a ‘hit and run’ accident. Samudra and Mohona are sent to the village to check out the case as a formality. However, what seems to be a simple, authentic claim, ends up being the tip of a very deep iceberg. As they try to get to the bottom of things, a cat and mouse game begins between the duo and a mysterious scamster (Rajatava Dutta), the criminal mastermind who runs the gang.Talking about the thought behind his upcoming series, director Abhirup Ghosh said: “The story throws light on the vulnerability that comes with poverty and a lack of education and how easily exploitable it is. Two insurance agents stumble upon several mysterious cases of people with life insurance policies from their company dying accidental deaths. The duo starts an investigation to find the truth, but they are clueless about the menacing mastermind behind the whole thing.
